Building a small cosmetics company after fleeing violence

Kim had a great government job, a University degree in IT and Business, lived in a middle class home and had a baby on the way. But as her marriage disintegrated, her husband became violent. She left it all and moved into a shelter so that she and her daughter could be safe.

She was referred to the Up With Women career and business development program and immediately began to work on her business dreams with her coach. Now she’s launched a small natural cosmetics line and is excited for the future.
